Installations: This is what fuels onamission and relates to the work we do with www.commotions.org.uk. We want to make your space special, this can be done by an installation, this might also have an information system and links to the internet.
The installation could be for a museum, art gallery, solicitors reception, the list is endless, so is the potential of them. From onamission’s perspective it gives public awareness of industrial heritage, from yours it makes you stand out from the crowd, relax, stimulate or inspire customers and visitors. We are currently exploring the therapeutic role of turret clock installations within hospices. The visual content, of the wheels moving and the gentle tick a real treat. The great thing about the industrial heritage we install is it generally has never been seen before, so you get complete amazement about the unknown item. This leads to the natural investigation, then we have your full attention.
Many of the installations are for the project centre, but the commercial aspect of onamission, deals with other installations, all funds raised in the process are fed back into the next project. We have the imagination to turn industrial heritage into living art and form interactive displays. We try and make the industrial heritage come alive and be made contemporary. Here the best of the past is used to inspire the next generation.
If you have industrial heritage that simply rotting away, why not contact us and we will try and put it to good use. It does not matter how weird or wonderful it is. We want to add value and colour to society, to the point that a journey in your community will result in your ‘tripping over’ an interesting installation. Without this colour and depth we could lead to a society that is not reflective of its activities, to a point you don’t know whether you are in Birmingham or Brixham.
If this all sound fun to you, why not join one of the clubs and see what is going on and start your own project.
